Blog Benefits!

While going through my readings, i came across many benefits for creating and sharing blogs, although as our weeks go by, i truly felt the benefits first hand, but i wanted to share few thoughts on it .

Blogs create a dialogues between bloggers and readers. Through the generated conversations, bloggers and readers build a strong solid base of shared experiences, which reinforces interaction atmosphere. Comments feature help enhance the interaction and social engagement of learners and reinforce peer online discussion and  sharing culture.

Blogs provide a platform for individual reflection as well as peer interaction in the learning process. Blogs provide a space for personal writing , that is easily published and shared, allowing connections and formation of communities a very easy process for users/ learners.

In the learning context, blogging gives the students/ learners time to comprehend, reflect and time to think. Comments involves reflection on the students' peers and their prior knowledge and gained / acquired information. It has been shown most blog comments are noteworthy that lead to an inquiry that stimulated critical thinking reflection. This is partly by, students/ learners are very mindful and thoughtful of what they intend to write and share on their blogs among their peers. Moreover, their peers, take their time to reflect after reading the post, try to analyze what they have read and then post their comment .

Thats my take so far, please share your thoughts with me if you came across my post :)

  1. I love this! I have decided I'd like to include blogs in my Creative Writing course set-up this year (and if all goes as planned, maybe all of my classes the following year), and this is just the sort of inspiration I needed to get my butt into gear planning it and adding it all to my syllabus. I've loved blogging and reading blogs this semester, and I think my students will too!
