Topic: How to change / modify eating behavior for an individual using technology.
Most strategies used to cause behavioral eating change are tailored according to characteristics of the target population. Social, cultural, and economic . It has been shown that different individuals may respond differently to the same message.
A digital behavior change intervention (DBCI) is defined as ‘…a product or service that uses computer technology to promote behavior change. These interventions are accessible through wearable devices, computer ,cellular phones, smartphone applications, and a variety of websites. This kind of intervention is very helpful in modifying eating behavior and has been shown to be effective.
Designing intervention involves an approach, which uses expertise from many disciplines including computer science and behavioral science to develop an overall inclusive approach for engaging target population and helping the population to be interactive.
The effectiveness of DBCIs depends on a commitment and continual interaction and engagement with target population. Websites could offer motivation, feedback, as well as knowledge in response to provided personalized information from the client/ user.. This intervention maybe be very valuable by providing interactive / engaging support services to interested target population .
