I grew up with meat taking up 1/3 of the plate, starch 1/3, and vegetables 1/3; starch and vegetable being the same thing, mostly. I now eat meat/protein about 3 times per week, otherwise, it's primarily vegetables and fruits. I have my son and his partner to thank for that. I was on my way there, but they pushed me over the edge. Sometimes, a week will go by and I haven't eaten but an egg or two.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing! Yes, i am not against meat consumption, but processed red meat, daily intake has many adverse health effects. A not strict vegan diet can very beneficial especially in cancer prevention and heart disease prevention.
